Welcome Summer!

Yay! It's summer and most of my spring recitals are over! (save violin) I had four of them over the last 3 days and am proud to say that they went very well.

*We are now interrupting this program for a very special announcement. Gracie's loathed orchestra conductor will not be coming back next year, because he has been hired full-time somewhere else. She almost stood up and did a happy dance when it was announced during the concert yesterday.*


My younger sis, Kathleen (age nine), is at standardized testing today and it is very quiet at home. I normally wake up to the sound of her voice.


I finished Chains yesterday,

and I can't wait to start the sequel Forge that it sitting by my bed.Nevr

They are very sad books about slaves in the revolutionary war, but I can't seem to be able to put them down.

I recently did a photo shoot outside with nature, (my sister refuses over and over to participate) so be expecting a picture post soon.

The Jungle Book

Recently My sister Kathleen and I auditioned for Jungle Book The Musical with a homeschool drama group. We were over joyed to find out that Kathleen got Mowgli!!!! So she is the main little boy while I get to be Kaa the cunning snake. ssssssssssssssssss... It's lots of fun. So rehearsals started last week and we have two more weeks so memorize all of our lines and our character sketch is due Monday. (meaning, we have to write down who our character is, how we're going to portray him/her, a Bible verse that goes along with it...) The play is in May and we have practices once a week so this is going to be a big part of our second semester.

On a side note, I got a solo in a song Give Me Wings in chorus. :) I can't wait till our recital on Saturday.

P.S. We are reading The Jungle Book as a read-aloud for the next couple weeks and is really good so far.

The Out Takes

Today I got woken up by Mommy and stayed in bed for 15 more minutes. When o went down stairs I got myself some juice and promptly lied down on the couch while mommy made French toast. She doled out that it was ready and my younger sister Kathleen walks sleepily down the stairs. I barely ae any because he syrup was too sweet for my tummy. We prayed over the day and I went to look at carnagie music.
Explenation: we go to the fine arts summer academy or fasa every year. It is hosted by the Annie Moses band and they are playing at carnagie hall next weekend. Hey have invited some camp participants to be in the orchestra and chorus.

There is a section of the concert where there are smaller vocal ensembles from people at fasa. I haven't heard that I was in one so we are assuming I'm not. You can see how this would make me sad.

I have to go do school work now.
